Hamilton's History of Company M, First Texas Volunteer Infantry, Hood's Brigade, Longstreet's Corps, Army of the Confederate States of America, 41 pages, with forward written by Hamilton in 1925. Contains list of 97 members of Company M and casualities suffered, as well as accounts of battles in which the company fought. Battles include Sharpsburg, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, Spotsylvania Court House, and a battle near Richmond during which Company M fought against Afro-American soldiers of the U.S. Army. Also includes a brief history of Trinity Co., Texas. Descriptions of the impact of reconstruction on the area contain comments on the Ku Klux Klan, carpetbaggers, and freedmen during Reconstruction.
